(ROOM N102) C.S 7.3. The ALLIANZ Audit operating model. Leading and aligning a global Audit function
In Allianz, we manage 600 auditors in 40 countries and in very diverse financial services: from asset management to property and casualty, from credit insurance to life and health insurance. Some teams have up to 75 audit professionals like in Germany, but also in many jurisdictions we have a very small team with one or two auditors.
We then consolidate as much as 1000 audit reports annually, with many cultural differences and languages. Our main challenge is to provide assurance, that we meet local regulatory requirements and at the same time build a global and risk-based assurance process over the Group Internal Control system.
How do we align audit practices? Achieve consistency in audit opinions? Steer and monitor the overall audit activity: planning, reporting, follow up? What is our Quality Assurance framework? How to hire, train and consistently develop our audit community across the globe? Is it better to keep a decentralized organization or to have a central global function?
