With his engineer degree freshly printed, Louis joined the General Inspection at Société Générale in 2011, feeling that the transformation that banks were undergoing created a fantastic field to play as well as an opportunity to bring fresh new ideas. First as a junior then as a head of assignment, he spent 6 years analyzing the Group’s retail and investment banking businesses in a wide range of geographies taking him from France to Eastern Europe, China, the US and Russia. He covered a wide diversity of subjects ranging from risk analysis, strategic positioning as well as wider reviews on the efficiency of organizations.

Besides managing inspection missions, Louis has been one of the early promoters of the development of smart tools within the Inspection. Believing that auditors should use technology to better detect risks, and reduce as much as possible low value-added tasks, he is now in charge of creating and deploying new tools for Société Générale’s Inspection & Audit department. He is also building an internal startup to monetize those tools, aiming at funding and accelerating the deployment of new technologies.

In line with his taste in reading research articles full of equations, Louis, now an MD within Inspection, is putting together a team of experts to accelerate the development of data science for Inspection and Audit.

In the strongly regulated banking environment, the challenge of managing a global audit team used to be: deliver in time, maintain a high level of rigor in the works, and ensure the quality of each report produced.
