Group Chief Audit Executive
BioJuan Guitard has a Law Degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid (1982) and is a member of the State´s Lawyers Association since 1984.
In 1989 he became Deputy Director of Legislation and Financial Policy in the General Directorate of the Treasury, being responsible for the development of regulations for the banking and securities market, which represented a profound change due to the Stock Market legislation implemented at that time. He has subsequently been Secretary General and Secretary of the Board, as well as Chief of Legal Services at AB Asesores Bursátiles, a financial consulting company from 1991 to 1994.
He joined the Santander Group in 1994 as General Secretary and Secretary of the Board of Banco Santander de Negocios. He then became Director of the Group's Investment Banking Department and, from 2002 to April 2009, he was Deputy Secretary General and of the Board, as well as Director of Legal Advice.
He performed the role of General Director of Santander Group´s Internal Audit from April 2009 to June 2013, becoming then the General Manager of the Group's Risk Division until October 2014.
He is currently Group Chief Audit Executive.
